Work
Experience
2022 - Present
Freelance Writer/Editor
I'm currently working for several clients, but still open to additional work!
2022 - Present
Consultant - Content Developer (Advocacy Comms)
I'm a women's rights advocate and currently a contractor for Investing in Women, an initiative of the Australian government focused on women's economic empowerment in SEA. Previously, I served as their communications officer (2021-2022).

I'm also a regular freelance contributor to publications by the Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives (GAIA).
2007 - Present
Advertising & Promotions Copywriter
I've written press releases, reports, brochures, magazine features, event briefs, etc. for corporations, as a direct hire or through agencies such as Drink Editorial & Design Inc., brand_it and NGP Integrated Marketing Communications. Back in the day, I was also a social media copywriter for Publicis Manila, Inc.
2016 - 2020
Editorial Lead (Sustainability Comms)
I'm trained in sustainability reporting, and, as Editorial Lead at Drink Sustainability Communications, helped publish award-winning annual and sustainability reports.
2004 - 2015
Media Practitioner
I covered Special Features, Arts & Lifestyle,
and Politics at a prestigious business newspaper, BusinessWorld. Beyond those regular beats, I also wrote on sports, business, health, motoring, tech, etc. I'm a storyteller,
so I enjoy expanding my range.
I was also associate editor of Entrepreneur Philippines and contributor to other Summit Media titles, such as Good Housekeeping Philippines and Esquire Philippines.
I continue to contribute to media publications. Hand to heart, media is my first love ;)
Education
2002 - 2004
University of the Philippines | Creative Writing units
I studied Creative Writing at the old (very old, in fact, it burned down and has since been rebuilt) College of Arts & Letters. I was a College Scholar from 2003-2004 (so I didn't leave because I couldn't hack it). It was a wrench to discontinue my studies, but at the time, I needed to focus on work (and paying the bills!).
1998 - 2002
Ateneo de Manila University | Bachelor's Degree in English Literature
Yes, this was by choice. No, I am not rich. I was lucky enough to get a scholarship and spent most of my service hours at the library (it didn't feel like work, at all!). As a Merit English Scholar,
I was also fortunate to have Doreen Gamboa Fernandez as my freshman adviser and she convinced me I could write. So here we are :)
